Dear SCBC Men,
Research shows that pornography use is widespread among men and boys today. Studies indicate that an estimated 78% of men report consuming pornography at least to some extent, and exposure often begins early in adolescence. In addition, surveys of youth suggest that a vast majority of teen boys have encountered pornographic material before adulthood, with some studies reporting figures as high as 93% of boys exposed to internet pornography by age 18. These patterns reflect how accessible explicit material has become and highlight a growing need for meaningful conversation, biblical teaching, and pastoral guidance on sexual purity.
In keeping with our mission to strengthen families and to encourage and equip men to lead like Christ, we invite you to join us for an important and hope-filled evening with special guest Joshua Broome focused on gospel-centered freedom and faithfulness.

About Our Speaker:
Joshua Broome has a radical story of redemption which gives him a unique perspective in today’s culture that God is using in a mighty way. Now over a decade removed from the darkness of being in the pornography industry for 6 years, that seemed inescapable, he now shares his story on podcasts, TV shows and stages worldwide about how he discovered both purpose and lasting freedom in Christ.
Equipped with an education in Christian Ministries from Liberty University, Joshua and his wife, Hope, have been married for 8 years and live in Dallas, Texas with their four sons. His message is centered on the good news that no matter what you’ve done or what has happened to you nothing can separate you from the love available to you in Jesus! Joshua has shared his story on numerous platforms including The Shawn Ryan Show, The Michael Knowles Show, and many others. You can learn more about him by visiting his website: https://www.joshuabroome.me/
Who Should Attend:
This event is designed for men and boys middle school age and older.
Important Note:
The focus of this event will be sexual purity, specifically addressing the issue of pornography. We encourage men to consider bringing their sons if they are middle school age or older. While the content will not be graphic or extreme, parents are still encouraged to use discretion and wisdom regarding their sons’ readiness to engage with this topic.
We pray this will be a gospel-centered, honest, and hope-filled evening, equipping men of all ages to pursue freedom, integrity, and faithfulness in Christ.
