Discerning Calling and Care Within the Local Church
Pastoral ministry carries both great joy and great responsibility. Leaders are called not only to shepherd God’s people, but also to discern calling, gifting, and spiritual health within their congregations. In today’s ministry landscape—marked by complex spiritual dynamics, emotional strain, and growing demands—pastors need wisdom, support, and trusted community.
The 2026 BMA Fall Conference is designed as a formational gathering, not a confrontational one. Its purpose is to care for the shepherds while equipping them to care well for others. Together, we will explore how pastors can faithfully discern calling and spiritual authority, recognize healthy and unhealthy ministry patterns, and respond wisely to the needs of those they serve.
Through teaching sessions, panels, and guided conversations, this conference will address:
• Discerning calling and gifting within the local church
• Spiritual gifts and accountability, including prophetic ministry
• The inner life of the pastor and healthy self-awareness
• Mental health in ministry and knowing when to involve professional care
• Church structures and oversight that protect both leaders and people
• Shared wisdom through panel discussions and real-life ministry experiences
Our prayer is that every pastor leaves this gathering strengthened, encouraged, and better equipped—not only for their own spiritual health, but to shepherd others with discernment, humility, and care.
This conference is an invitation to pause, reflect, and grow together as we seek to faithfully serve Christ and His Church.
The BMA Fall Conference will be hosted by Hillside Bethel Ministries. The conference will be held across both church facilities, with daytime sessions taking place in the youth building, known as “The Hill,” and evening services convened in the main sanctuary. We invite you to join us for a time of rest, spiritual renewal, and fellowship with the BMA family. We look forward to seeing you!
