You are invited to attend our presentation of “Praystation” on Sunday Evening, March 15, at 6 PM. Doors will open at 5:15 PM (no reserved seating please). The musical is set as a virtual reality video game that teaches kids the different parts of The Lord’s Prayer. The musical’s theme is learning how to pray and to trust God every day.
What Can My Child Learn From This?
Children Learn by Doing - By singing these songs and using visual images and movement, children will learn spiritual concepts that will help provide a foundation for their spiritual development.
Children Learn by Serving - One of the best ways for people to develop their faith is by serving others. Building the habit of service at a young age results in a lifestyle and mindset of helping others. We teach that proclaiming the message of Christ through this musical is a way of serving their church and ministering to people.
Children Learn by Giving - Everyone has been given a certain amount of time, talents, and resources. Even children have abilities, time, and resources that they can give to help others. To be in a musical like this, children use their abilities of singing, acting, or dancing. They give their time to attend rehearsals and prepare their solos, choreography, or speaking parts. Children learn that everything they have can be used for God's purposes.
Children Develop Community - It is important for our children to engage in a community of believers where they are accepted, instructed, encouraged, supported, and held accountable. When we join to present a musical like this, we join our hearts toward a common goal that binds us together as a unit. Children need this connection with other believers, especially as they move toward adolescence and become more independent from their parents. They develop Christian friendships that will influence them through their teenage years.
To get the most impact from this musical, you can help by reinforcing these ideas in your conversation with your child as you prepare for this musical. Tell them how proud you are of them that they have chosen to serve our church and give their time, talents, and resources to proclaim the message of Christ!
We can't wait for you to enjoy this musical experience with us!
