Prepare a Path

John the Baptist is rarely, if ever, associated with Christmas - but what is often overlooked is his relation to Jesus. You see, Jesus and John the Baptist were relatives. John’s mother, Elizabeth, and Jesus’ mother, Mary, were both pregnant at the same time and relatives themselves! Somehow John knew his role and calling. The Bible describes John as one who was preparing the path which Jesus would use to reach people. There is no greater time than Christmas to prepare paths for Jesus to use to reach those who are hungry for Christ’s truth and thirsty for Christ’s grace. Will you, like John, prepare a path for Jesus this Christmas?  

The Humble King

The Problem Cues the Promise

There is a story behind Christmas that offers an entirely new perspective on the advent we all love to celebrate. This story begins 700 years before the Christ Child is born. The story creates a promise, but the promise was subject to a process. This very idea is crystallized in the life of Joseph, Jesus’ earthy father. Joseph found himself in a near impossible scenario given his fiancé was with Child, but the child was not biologically his. So, what did he do? What would you do? Are you currently facing a near-impossible problem? God just may be cuing His process.
