Such beautiful words.

These words from Genesis 1 are some of the most influential in the history of our nation, ranging in impact from MLK's important work in the Civil Rights Movement to the debates surrounding Roe v. Wade.

But what do they really mean? And what would someone living in the days of Genesis have thought about them?

The answers just might surprise you.

“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” - St. Mother Teresa God brought the animals to Adam to be named. Which was a pretty big responsibility if you stop to think about it. Perhaps we won’t ever have to rise to the occasion of giving the animal kingdom their monikers, but God has brought us something. The Bible promises that God has prepared good works for us to do in advance. These works aren’t a means to our salvation, but they are a response to our salvation. It was James who said faith without works was dead - although works without faith doesn’t last either. God has brought you something to name. Do you know what it is?
