THE SETTING: Where we are in the story Jesus during these 40 days: “shows himself and gives many convincing proofs” Two themes: “spoke about the kingdom”; “spoke about the gift the Father promised” “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” JESUS’ ANSWER “Not for you to know the times…” “…the Father has set (the time) by his own authority.” JESUS’ ALTERNATIVE TO BOREDOM…BUT you… …Will receive power. …Will be my witnesses WHERE MISSION HAPPENS? - your Jerusalem— - your Judea— - your Samaria— - AND to the ends of the earth. HOW TO RESIST BOREDOM - Go - Send - Pray …or disobey… and remain bored!
