Main Point: God commands us to trust him with the Big Picture of our lives because his ways are better than our ways. Surrender to God’s will for your life.

Foundation Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11. God’s plans are to give you hope and a future according to His Kingdom purposes

God’s Kingdom Purpose:

Proverbs 19:11. Many are the plans of a man’s heart but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

There are souls that do not want God’s Kingdom purpose because it disrupts their prideful plans for their life.

Once we surrender to the fact that we were created for Kingdom purpose and that is the only place to find true hope and fulfillment in this life, then the supernatural journey begins.

Surrender to God’s beautiful purpose for your life. There is so much joy there.

The Big Picture Belongs to God

Genesis 12:1-5. Abraham is given a promise but he was not given clarity on the big picture of his journey.

Abraham tries to help God fulfill his promise of a great nation and his seed numbering the stars

Genesis 15: 1-6.

Abraham offers God a solution for being a great Nation. God clarifies his promise of a seed.

Genesis 15:5. God illustrates his promise of a seed that will be as many as the stars.

Sarah also tries to help God fulfill his promise.

The Promise Fulfilled

Genesis 21:1-7. Abraham and Sarah have a son, named Isaac, in their old age. God keeps his promises.

Trust-The big picture of my life belongs to God

Focus on the thing things you can control and enjoy the supernatural journey.

God is good.

Summary:

God made Abraham a promise. Abraham wanted to see the big picture (his seed numbering the stars) so he offered to help God with his promise.

Don’t make it happen on your own

Wait for God to open doors and close doors

Focus on what you can control

Proclaim Jesus is Lord of your life

Trust: God’s Promises Never Die - Part 4

Main Point: Let your hope arise. God’s promises never die so let God’s people abound in hope. Promise of Redemption/Salvation John 3:16. God promises eternal life for all who call Jesus’ savior and Lord. Promise of Power from the Holy Spirit Acts 1:8. Christians are destined to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish the great plans God has for each one of us. Pastor’s Thoughts: The Key to being empowered by the Holy Spirit is our willingness to surrender our ways and allow God to fill us with his ways by the Holy Spirit. The secret place (a place where you and God are alone) is a good place to know God and be filled by his Spirit. The alter is a good place to surrender unto God and be filled by his Spirit Do not be afraid to surrender unto God’s will. It is in surrender that you find freedom to walk into your true Destiny. There is only one true destiny. That is in the will of God for your life. Promise of Peace and joy through the Christian journey Romans 15:13. When God fills you with joy and peace by the Holy Spirit, you abound in hope. John 14:27. Jesus informs his disciples that Peace that the world does not comprehend will be with them. Promise of God’s Glory manifested thru Instruments like us. 1 Corinthians 1:27. God chose the weak things of this world to show those who think there strong the truth of God. 2 Corinthians 12:9. God’s power is made perfect thru weak/flawed instruments who are surrendered to God. Your mistakes and weaknesses cannot stop God’s promise of redemption and peace and joy. 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us. Pastor’s Thoughts: Why is it just for God to forgive us of our sins? Because the sinless blood of Jesus covers our sins. If God planned a way thru Jesus for us to be forgiven, why would he stop there? Next step is for Christians who are forgiven by the blood of the Lamb to be empowered ambassadors for God’s Kingdom. That’s why we praise him. God’s promises never die. The deal is still on. Abraham and Sarah, even after all their mistakes; God fulfilled his promise to them. And if God needs to do signs and wonders to fulfill his promise. He will show you a miracle.

Trust: It Only Gets Better - Part 5

Foundation Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:9. God has amazing plans for those who trust and act on their faith. Main Point: For those whose trust and act on their faith and are totally dependent on Jesus; it only gets better. Intro: Remember that song “I keep falling in love with him, over and over and over and over again. It gets sweater and sweater as the days go by. Oh, what a love between my lord and I, I keep falling in love with him, over and over and over and over again”. Pastor’s Thoughts: We fall in love with Jesus more and more as we encounter his Love through life’s trials and tribulations. God uses trials and tribulations to draw us closer to him. When you go through a tough circumstance and share that experience with someone else (like in a war) you have a tendency to be close to the other person. This is true with God. As we journey through this life and we see God bring us to victory we only get closer to him. So, every trial of life is an opportunity to grow in trust and closeness with God. And when that happens it only gets better and better as the days go by. Heroes of faith all had trust in God that it would only get better: David was anointed King but he did not see it get better until he worked through many trials trusting God. Joseph dreamed a good dream but he did not see it get better until he worked through many trials trusting God. Jesus was God on Earth but he did not see the victory over sin and death until He worked through many trials trusting God the Father. There is a pattern. All who trust God to lead them thought trials will achieve greatness and draw closer to God. Greatness is achieved when you are surrendered and walking in God’s will. Proverbs 6:11 v1-3. When you feel trapped; work hard to deliver yourself v4-5. Work hard to be free from a trap from the enemy v6-8. Consider the ant, how it works hard to make sure there is food in the harvest. v9-11. Break free or poverty (spiritual poverty) will set in. Pastor’s Thoughts: When I first read Proverbs 6 I was thinking of this in terms of this world. For example, work hard and good will come from your hard work. The concept is true for all of humanity. Then as I took time to pray about this concept; I was focused on proverbs 6 from a spiritual perspective. The enemy tries to keep us trapped and not able to see to joy and blessings that are promised to God’s people. The way to break free from the lies of the enemy is to work hard (intentionally) on Godly things: Work Hard on these things: Trust and Stay close to the God because it only gets better day by day: Fight and protect your secret place with God because it only gets better. Be faithful and serve your church because it only gets better Be faithful in giving (tithes and offering) and serving others because it only gets better. Be faithful in reading the bible because it only gets better. Summary: Trust. It only gets better Work hard to break free from traps of the enemy so you can go from victory to victory Joy and Peace regardless of the trials of life belong to God’s people who trust and are totally dependent on Jesus.
