Once The Door Is Shut
April 27, 2024 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 33:12—34:26
We are citizens of a Kingdom which cannot fail; admonished to serve God in a way that pleases Him. God will consume man-made institutions & philosophies unworthy to remain. What serves His purpose can withstand the consuming fire that is our God. It will be uncomfortable; it will purge the dross and purify in the process. That which remains is “brotherly love,” from the Greek term, philadelphia. Unleavened Bread is time when we are to empty ourselves of carnal tendencies. In this day and time, to prepare ourselves for the test that is surely coming. So that we will be able to stand in the day of adversity. A door is open for God's people to fulfill purpose; one day the door is shut. The book of Exodus began with Israel in bondage; it ends with Israel a free nation in the midst of constructing the tabernacle in which the presence of God would dwell. This portion begins with an accounting of all the materials that went into the building of the Sanctuary -- in great detail. Pekudei is translated here as "inventory." To See Beyond the Here and Now
March 9, 2024 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 35:1—38:20
Everyone knows that God doesn’t need our treasure; He wants our whole heart. Our contributions are not limited to monetary items; our gifts and our service. Consequently our treasure should be not be temporal things. If the people had a willing heart to give and to serve, they would be blessed with the Presence of the Almighty. When we do good toward our fellow man in obedience to God's instructions, He rewards us in this life; sometimes openly so that all will see the benefit of obedience. Righteous actions apparent to all are rewarded in way that is visible to all. The Sons of Oil
February 24, 2024 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 27:20—30:10
The previous portion focused on the mishkan; this portion focuses on the priests. Garments and unique duties spoke to how they were to represent Israel to God. Also how they were to represent God to Israel. Collectively reminding Israel of her call to holiness, It opens with command regarding the oil for the menorah. Many words in Hebrew that are translated as “pure” — here it is zak. That the oil (fuel for the light) was to be pure in this manner was interpreted to mean that the priesthood was to remain pure, not contaminated by rest of the nation. If we are considered priests, this instruction carries the same weight for us. We are to remain pure and uncontaminated; not an easy task. Building Something Greater than Ourselves | Howard Doll

Everything regarding the temple from its foundations to its ornamentations reflects unity. Everything and everyone had to come together working in its purpose to carry out what would reflect the Holy Temple. Since the beginning of creation in the Garden of Eden the Father has desired to walk in unity with his people and to tabernacle among them. We see how the Children of Israel came together in the wilderness and learned how to work together to fashion the next tabernacle. Everyone coming together from different tribes working in their skill set. People can unite for various reasons with two possible results, build up or tear down. People can unite for an evil agenda, or to fight an evil agenda. The building of the Temple wasn't something that came about over night. It took men with a vision to complete that which the Father had placed in their heart to carry out from generations past. Yeshua's last prayer before leaving this world was that we might be one as He and the Father are one. The Word tells us people will know that we are His disciples by having love for one another. This is unity. If our agendas revolve around our own egos then we will never accomplish what He is wanting to do in us. We have to be devoid of selfishness. Only then can we be pliable and able to be used by the Father. Once we work in humility we can share in His one vision. If we can find a way to work together, there's nothing we cannot do together through Him. Finding God's Purpose in Your Wilderness l Jeremy Doll

A season can be a trial, trouble or even the unknown. Your "Wilderness" can be a time when the you are relying on the Father to help grow and find your place through uncertain times. It can be a loss of a job, a broken marriage, a tragedy, so one and so on.. The Father uses these times to prune and purge us of unnecessary things so that we may depend on Him and walk in the calling He's placed upon our lives. He has placed specific desires in our hearts to pursue and fulfill, but these things do not happen without showing our constant faith in what He has set aside for us. It may not happen over night. It may even take years but rest assured He is watching and seeing how we respond in those seasons of trial and dependance. He will never show us the process of how He is working in our lives but He will never abandon us either. I feel if He did we'd give up on the Destination. He is however, crafting and shaping us into specific instruments to be used for a specific design that only we can do through Him. Whether it's sooner or later we have to decide by prioritize Him as the main focal point of our lives. Only then can we set out to fulfill our hearts desire and calling. When Destiny Comes Calling
September 9, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Proverbs 17:10–12, Deuteronomy 29:10–13, Exodus 6:6–7, Romans 3:7–8, Matthew 25:1–5
As the Children of Israel came into the Promised Land, we see that God is a keeper of His promises. Through all the trials and tribulations, we see that He is faithful. So if He is faithful then, surely will He not continue to be? Moses was concerned about the future of the people when he is no longer with them. God had even told Moses that they will turn away. We all bear fruit regardless of what we choose to do, good or evil. It is imperative that we don’t just share Bible stories but to teach them so that we may grow in spiritual maturity. Deadly things from the past cannot be carried into the future if we are to flourish. Even having an attitude of doing whatever we feels ok without consequence is as being rebellious. Even the parable of the 10 virgins we see see 5 of them were acting foolish by not thinking ahead and being prepared. The end result cost them their divine appointment and their destiny. If God has truly called us to be here, we should understand that there will be difficulties, disappointments and obstacles to overcome, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t here. Being challenged to purge us of all that is contrary to His calling will enable us to achieve our destiny and see Him, face-to-face. Don't Relinquish Your Inheritance

“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness” (Psalm 24:1). The sh’mittah year is the seventh in a seven year cycle. The land is to rest and not be tilled or worked by anyone else during this time. As the Shabbat was to the people, so was this command for the land. Sabbatical year teaches that there is a direct connection between the people and the land. If God is concerned for the land then it matters to Him who dwells within it. The Father set up a covenant with Abraham regarding the land and with his descendants. Throughout the Word the Father is always beckoning His Children to return to what He has set aside for our inheritance as an “everlasting possession.” We are to hold tightly to this as if to never let go (achuzah). The “possessions” of what He has given us is to be passed down to future generations. Never should we consider releasing our inheritance to the vineyard of idolatry. Flight or Fight?
April 22, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 16:3, 1 Kings 6:7, Matthew 11:16–19, Judges 7:2–7, Leviticus 12:1–4
Iyar is the month to identify gripers and those who are being grouped for battle. We see this way back when the Children began to complain, after the deliverance at Passover. We also see the fighters in the second year of the Exodus as a census was taken for the numbering of the armies. The Biblical pattern teaches us that the journey from Passover to Shavuot will be marked with challenges that provoke our carnal tendencies. We believe that the seed of faith planted in our hearts and life will, in the appointed time, grow and blossom and produce the fruit God intended. On a congregational level; if God is birthing something in our assembly, unclean things will surface. We must be diligent to remain on guard as the enemy tries to use our weaknesses against us. Let us make up our minds that complaining and retreating isn’t an option. Instead, let’s fight the good fight and be committed to one another, as He is to us. An Exceeding Great Army
April 8, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 33, Exodus 34:5–8, Philippians 2:9–11, Ezekiel 37:1–3, Leviticus 26:38–39
Passover emphasizes God’s mercy, compassion and forgiveness. In order for a people to be redeemed, there must be a Redeemer. Someone to be selfless and die to themselves and for others. In Philippians 2:5-8 we see that Yeshua “did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” By doing this his humility was required so that we might be shown mercy and forgiveness. He has entrusted His reputation into our hands. None of this is possible without the resurrection. His resurrection gives us hope that all His promises will come to pass. We must believe that we are all in the midst of the process; He is bringing to culmination what started when Yeshua came out of the grave. Through Messiah we who were afar off have been brought near. We pray that He may breathe upon us the breath of life as He did the vast army of dry bones, so that His Spirit may blow and topple the gods of this world that stand in our way. Gird Up Your Loins
April 6, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Numbers 28:16–18, Leviticus 23:6–8, Exodus 12:15, Exodus 12:16–17, Job 38:1–3
This week we congregate to acknowledge the command given to us in regard to the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Chametz (yeast) is to be removed from the congregation which is called to be holy. Tradition doesn’t allow for the smallest amount of chametz to remain at Passover. Just as we remove it from our homes and lives, we also must remove it from the Body. Whether in a person’s life or in a congregation, sin must be dealt with properly so we can hear from Him clearly. It cannot be excused, overlooked, or swept under the rug. In Job 38:1-3, when Job was confronted with the circumstances of his life the Father told him to “prepare yourself” (gird up your loins) because he was about to put him to a task that would require all of his ability. In conjunction with the removal of leaven, the Almighty emphasized on the first day of unleavened bread, when He brought His people out of Egypt, that they had to eat in hast and with their loins girded. Meaning, to be ready at a moments notice with nothing in our lives that could keep us from hearing His call with clarity. Giving An Account
March 18, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 38:21—40:38, Exodus 35:1—38:20
All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the Lord has commanded. - Exodus 35:10. In this week's portion we see the Father calling those of a willing heart to bring their offering before the Lord for the work of the tabernacle. Among those specifically, were Betzalel and Oholiav. The two chief artisans who were given the wisdom of how to build the mishkan and how the intricate details needed to look and operate. The details of the mishkan and its components teach principles that went beyond what was seen when looking at its furnishings. More specifically Betzalel (In the shadow of El) achieved a clarity of vision and an understanding of his mission. By following God’s pattern, he brought into the physical world God’s design, whereby others could “abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” There is a blessing in participating in God’s purpose. This connects the notion of “being assembled” (vayechel). God has a reason for assembling the people. Accepting His invitation to be part of the bigger picture will result in His blessings. The biggest blessing of all is His presence among us. Solomon had the same wisdom of Betzalel but by listening to women who served foreign gods, lost his way and his heart turned away from God and Truth. When God gives us abilities and talents He expects a return. By making an investment in us, we have certain responsibilities to be fruitful. He gives us the necessary tools needed to accomplish His will. He gave Betzalel wisdom. Regardless of who we are, we must remember that the wisest can be led astray by the voices of others. Let us not fall into the trap of Solomon. Let us be like Betzalel who persevered in the truth and faithfulness of the calling.
Purge the Inner Man
February 25, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Exodus 25:1–2, Matthew 6:22–23, Luke 18:10–14, Deuteronomy 10:8–9, Matthew 3:8–12
Everybody has a part to play! He has given us talents and resources to be used for His purpose. In this week’s portion, the Father calls His people to bring their different contributions, so that the tabernacle may be built. This indicates that ALL of us have a role to play in establishing the Sanctuary. However, in this process the portion we bring must be that of a cheerful giver and a heart of humility. We as a body cannot expect to bring gifts of mediocrity and expect it to bring forth fruit, much less be acceptable to the Father. We must purge those things that have a tendency to get in the way of us from walking in His fulness. God wants us to be part of the building process of His Sanctuary. How we participate in this process matters as much, if not more than if we participate. Things such as pride and rebellion have no place in the building process. He has given us a pattern to follow. Take the pig, for example: Lying on its side, a pig appears to meet the qualifications of being clean, but upon an INWARD inspection, we see they are disqualified. May we reflect that of the ark. The inner pattern was the same as that of the outward. During this process some of these things can be hard to hear and may sting a bit, but we can’t afford to be offended or bitter if it is the truth He is imparting to us. Galatians 4:16 says, “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the Truth?” We have to allow the Holy Spirit to have his way in the tempering process. Allow Him to search us, throughly and proclaim to live by truth so that our contributions for our Sanctuary may indeed be found acceptable. Do You Hear What I Hear?
February 18, 2023 • Bill Cloud • Ephesians 3:16–17, Psalm 40:6–8, Jeremiah 31:31–33, Exodus 21:1–6, Matthew 13:10–17
As a child, I remember being in the classroom and hearing the teacher give out instructions on assignments. I would hear her talking but not understand what was always being said, mainly because I wasn’t truly taking to heart what was being taught. In this week’s portion, we read about Gods ordinances or judgements given to Israel. He always wants what He says to be internalized and lived out for others to see. Many times when the Father is speaking to us we are quick to say,”We will hear and do”, but fall short of it resonating within our hearts. If our hearts are not in sync with His, He has a way of testing us to see what is truly within us concerning obeying his instructions. The inner man is where He wants to dwell but it must be Holy. Many can see the beauty of the Sanctuary standing in the court, but very few knew the beauty of being in the inner most part where the Lord dwelt. We as people have a tendency to focus on the outside but it is the Father who is searching out ALL the rooms of the inner man. If the Word is to be internalized then it must be in our hearts. Yeshua repeatedly taught in parables and said to his listeners, “He who has an ear, let him hear.” If our hearts are connected to the Father then we should be able to perceive the intent of His Word. On one occasion God spoke but most heard thunder and not a voice. The condition of the inner man will outweigh what we get to see on the inside. We as a body have to go beyond the place where we are a community that just happens to get together on Shabbat and feast days to encourage and support each other. We must be about internalizing His Word in our hearts by hearing and doing what He has commanded us to do as a testimony to others.
