The Women of [k]ings are invited to participate in a clothing swap with light bites and refreshments after services on May 4th! Please bring 3-5 clothing or accessories in good condition to “shop” the swap!
Clothing Swap FAQs
When & Where: after church on May 4, from 2-4pm. Please RSVP here by April 23 so we can plan and order the right amount of snacks for the spread. Feel free to enjoy the Hudson Yards neighborhood before the event.
Who’s it for? All Women of [k]ing’s are welcome! Please bring 3-5 items as your “ticket” to the event. Of course more even items are welcome!
Can I invite friends outside of [[k]ings’s? Yes! Women from other churches, friends not of faith, others looking for community, and women who could use free clothing are all welcome. Your guests are our guests and not required to bring anything unless they would like to. Please add them to your RSVP for our headcount preparations.
**We ask that outside guests arrive around 2:30pm to stagger the event flow. Of course earlier arrivals won’t be turned away
What can I bring? Please bring anything you’d be proud to see other [k]ings’ women wear! All clothing, including vintage. Undergarments, swim, and socks are welcome if new with tags. ALSO: any small personal items like purses, shoes, hair tools, lotion, hair products, perfume, etc.
What should I keep at home? Previously worn undergarments, socks, or swimsuits as well as large household appliances, used makeup, or kitchen items.
When should I drop off items? Please drop everything off before service between 10:30-11am in disposable bags— grocery/shopping bags, trash bags, etc.
Can I donate clothes and not attend? Yes! Two options: 1. Drop off items before service (see above) or 2. Organize with a friend to bring on your behalf.
What will happen to the leftover clothes? At 4pm we’ll begin tear down. At 4, feel free to take any of your leftover clothes home. After 4:15, the rest of the clothes will be packed for donation.
How are you organizing the clothes? We will hang as much as we can in general sizes: XS/S (00-4), M (6-10), L+ (12 & up). Bottoms will be folded on tables. **Please write on your disposable bags what sizes are inside
