February 19, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2—3
Today on Bridging the Gap, we begin an in depth look at the seven letters the Lord Jesus sent to the seven churches, as transcribed by John in the second and third chapters of Revelation. These letters are encouraging, chastening, and challenging - for those churches and for us! There are so many great lessons for us in these verses.
Return to Your First Love
February 26, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2:1–7
Today Lloyd continues his series in Revelation chapters two and three. Last time, he began a look at the first of seven letters Jesus gave to seven different first century churches. In his letter to Ephesus, the key words are found in chapter two, verse four - “you have left your first love”. Whether an entire church body, or an individual Christian, leaving the love relationship we have with Jesus is something to be avoided.
Be Faithful Unto Death
March 4, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2:8–11
If you’re a Christian, at some point in your life, you’ll be persecuted. The Lord said so! Today we’ll look at the second letter to the seven churches in Revelation. The church in Smyrna is the subject, in chapter two, verses eight through eleven. They were being persecuted, but they were persevering as well.
Turning from Compromise - Part 1
March 11, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2:12–17
Yesterday we completed Lloyd’s look at the Lord’s letter to Smyrna, in Revelation chapter two. It was a letter of encouragement and praise. Today, as we begin a study of the letter to Pergamos, we see a very different tone to the Lord’s words. Pergamum had fallen into the hands of false teaching. The Lord’s response? Repent!
Turning from Compromise - Part 2
March 18, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2:12–17
Today on Bridging the Gap, Pastor Lloyd Pulley will give us some more background on the City of Pergamos and the challenges the church in this city faced. Compromise was all around, and the people felt pressured to join in. Do you ever feel that way in the year 2019? Join us as we continue to study the book of Revelation and the Lord’s message to the church in Pergamon.
Hold Fast Until He Comes
April 15, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 2:18–29
Lloyd’s series on the letters to the seven churches in Revelation continues today with letter number four - the letter to Thyatira. Like several other churches, The Lord has something good to say, but also something bad. And this letter points out to us today just how easy it is to think we’re going along just fine in our Christian walk, when disaster looms just around the corner.
Strengthen What Remains
April 29, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 3:1–6
On our next two programs, we’ll take a look at the Lord’s message to the church in Sardis. The title of Pastor Lloyd’s message is “Strengthen What Remains”, so you can tell that the believers at Sardis had some pretty significant problems.
Hold Fast! I Am Coming Quickly! - Part 1
May 6, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 3:7–13
We’re going to talk about body building on today’s program, but before you reach for your barbells or mix that low-cal shake, we’re talking about Body Building God’s Way. We’ll be looking at the Lord’s letter to the church in Philadelphia, found in Revelation chapter three, verses seven through thirteen. Again - the topic will be building up the body of Christ, something at which the Philadelphians were very good at.
Hold Fast! I Am Coming Quickly! - Part 2
May 13, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 3:7–13
Maybe you didn’t realize it, but Philadelphia is the Greek name for “The City of Brotherly Love.” Well, today on Bridging the Gap, we’re going to take a look at the Church of Philadelphia -- not the one in Pennsylvania -- but rather, the one in Revelation three and determine whether or not it lives up to its name.
Open the Door
May 20, 2012 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Revelation 3:14–22
Today on Bridging the Gap, we'll conclude Pastor Lloyd Pulley's look at the Lord's letter to the Laodiceans in Revelation three, verses fourteen through twenty-two. In this case, heat would be a good thing. The Lord wanted his churches to be on fire for the Gospel, but the Laodiceans were lukewarm. In many respects, this is worse than being completely cold, and we’ll find out why on today's program.
