We are excited to be doing baptisms during our services on Sunday, May 18. Baptism is the act of publicly declaring you are a Christ-follower. When you go down into the waters of baptism, it is symbolic of being nailed to the cross with Jesus. When you rise out of the waters, it’s symbolic of Jesus’ resurrection, in which He defeated sin, death, and evil. You are now alive in Jesus Christ. Baptism is not necessary for salvation, but it is an important aspect of being a Christ-follower. Jesus commanded that His disciples be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18–20).
