Connecting Point: Pysanky Ukranian Egg Decorating
We will be decorating eggs Thursday, March 5th at 6pm-9pm OR Friday, March 6th at 9am-12pm
Pysanky is an ancient Ukrainian folk art of decorating eggs using a wax-resist (batik) method, where intricate symbols and patterns are "written" onto the shell with hot beeswax using a special tool called a kistka, then dipped in successively darker dyes, and finally, the wax is melted off to reveal the vibrant, multi-colored design. Come learn this beautiful art from some of our Ukrainian friends. Open to women ages 18+. Please note: There is no childcare for this “ladies only” event. Space is limited to 35 participants, and cost is $40.
