June 23, 2024 • Beau Eckert • Psalm 77
Jesus was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. As His followers, we share in His sufferings. He promised that in this world, we will have trouble – hurt and pain leading to grief. Lament is the language for our grief. If we are asking God to teach us to pray, it must include asking Him to teach us to lament.

Crown the King
June 18, 2024 • Adam Derus • Psalm 2
There is only one King and it’s King Jesus. Psalm 2 reminds us of the foolishness of crowning ourselves king, the expected posture of honor and reverence to King Jesus, and the expectation that all people submit their lives to the true King of Kings.
Wisdom
Christian Lefko • Psalm 1
The very first Psalm confronts us with the fact that every human being is on one of two paths: the path of the righteous resulting in life, or the path of the unrighteous resulting in destruction. After David’s sin against Bathsheba and Uriah, God sends Nathan to confront him. Nathan uses a parable to help David see the devastation his sin has caused. David’s heartfelt confession is preserved for us in Psalm 51. It reminds us how much we all need the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness.
