Revelation 1:12 - Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Jesus has the keys to death and hell. That means if we die, Jesus can open the door to hell and death and let you out.

When Adam and Eve died, we all died, too. Adam’s sin carried forth through all mankind to rebel against God. The only way to overcome that is to accept Christ as savior and allow His sacrifice to redeem us.

Jesus stripped Satan of his authority. The keys were taken away. We are no longer bound to the punishment for sin. Jesus paid the price for us to be set free.

Luke 4:18-19 - “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

Isaiah 61:1,2 - “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,

Because the LORD has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

We were prisoners of sin and death. We are now free through Jesus’ sacrifice. We can enjoy the blessings of being in God’s family. That includes all the things that Jesus has.

John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We will have life after this life is over.

God created man to fellowship with Him. We were not created to sin. When Adam sinned, he was separated from God and thus the need for a savior.

Galatians 3:13,14 - Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We’ve been redeemed from the curse of the law. Jesus became the curse for us. We receive the promise. Nothing in our life should be cursed. Not cursed, but blessed.

The cross of Jesus is a bridge from death to everlasting life. You can “cross” over.

Isaiah 53:5,6 - But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray;

We have turned, every one, to his own way;

And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Faith demands knowing what God wants. Faith cannot act unless it knows the truth.

All sickness and all punishment was laid on Jesus.
