95. Traces of Defeatism (A Critique of Amillennialism)
February 9, 2024 • Kendall Lankford • Isaiah 9:6–7
In "Traces of Defeatism," I examine how some of the interpretations and assumptions in amillennialism act like trace elements of poison in the Church's bloodstream, subtly undermining our mission by instilling a defeatist mindset. I argue for embracing a postmillennial perspective, which I believe empowers us to actively engage and transform culture, reflecting a more victorious outlook on God's kingdom and our role within it.
Merry Christmas. This Means War!
December 9, 2023 • Kendall Lankford • Isaiah 9:6–7
He was bringing war because this old world had fallen into bitter, soul-crushing slavery to an evil dragon. A serpent of great beguiling who tricked our only king into trading in his scepter for over-tight handcuffs... His crown for rusty chains. On that first Christmas morning, after legions of failed men who came before Him, the heaven-sent God-Man was born the royal Man-King. Delivered as a helpless babe to deliver and set the helpless free.
God Was Pleased To Crush Him (John 11:14-15; Isaiah 53:10)
April 15, 2022 • Kendall Lankford • John 11:14–15, Isaiah 53:10
In John 11 we learn how God uses pain for His good pleasure. Nowhere is that more evident than on the cross, where God is pleased to crush Jesus and cause Him grief, so that you and I can become children of God. We see at the cross how God can take the darkest day and turn into the moment of our greatest joy! Join us this Good Friday as we look to Christ Crucified.

But, He was announced long before that in Isaiah. Join us as we celebrate all these truths this Christmas Eve!

The Foundation of Christmas in Isaiah
December 6, 2020 • Kendall Lankford • Isaiah
Long before the events of Christmas morning, before a star led wisemen to the King, before the heavenly hosts heralded the messianic birth to nearby shepherds, before the virgin conceived, and before Gabriel announced it, Isaiah the prophet foretold it. He heralded the hope of Christmas in a particular setting and scene, and understanding that, will unlock the hope of Christmas for us as well. Join us this week, as we explore the foundation of Christmas in Isaiah.
