Wk 8: How Did We Get Here?
July 24, 2016 • Pastor Joby Martin • Judges 19—21
The Point: Apart from JESUS our lives, our families, and our country will fall APART. How do we respond? When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said “Repent,” he intended that the entire life of believers should be repentance. – Martin Luther
Wk 6: The Dangers Of Religion
July 10, 2016 • Pastor Ryan Stone • Judges 11
Religion is as dangerous as irreligion because both neglect the proper treatment of God’s Word and thus neglect the relationship offered by Jesus to us. The whole Bible points to a relationship with Jesus, not religious activity. RELIGION IS ROOTED IN MAN’S ATTEMPTED EFFORT TO REACH GOD. Relationship is rooted in God’s accomplished effort to redeem man.
Wk 5: How The Mighty Fall
July 3, 2016 • Pastor Joby Martin • Judges 10:14, Judges 8:21–34
If you are not ROOTED in the finished work of Jesus Christ, then you will surely be UPROOTED by the schemes of the enemy: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. “For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:16-17
Wk 2: God's Will In Our Weakness
June 12, 2016 • Pastor Joby Martin • Judges 3:1
THERE IS NO TESTIMONY WITHOUT A TEST. - IF dependence on God is the ultimate point then maybe weakness is our greatest asset. “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” – C.S. Lewis “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” –The Apostle Paul- 2 Corinthians 12:10
