Wk 3: Show Me Your Glory

March 29, 2015 • Pastor Joby Martin • Exodus 33:12–23, John 1:14, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Hebrews 1:3, Matthew 17:1–9

The Good News is not the we go up on the mountain top to seek the “glory” of God, but that His Glory came down in search of us.

“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” - CS Lewis

Wk 1: Tabernacle

March 15, 2015 • Pastor Joby Martin

The Point: The tabernacle reveals to us God’s Desire to dwell with His People. Jesus is the sum total fulfillment of that Tabernacle Desire of God for His people. Luke 9:30-31 30 And behold, two men were talking with him(Jesus), Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure (exodus), which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. John 1:14 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt (“tabernacled) among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Wk 2: Counterfeit gods

The Point: We all worship something. What is competing for the throne of your heart? Naming our idols 1. What is my greatest nightmare? What do I worry about most? 2. What do I rely on or comfort myself with when things go badly or become difficult? 3. What makes me feel the most self-worth? What am I the proudest of? 4. What do I really want and expect out of life? What would really make me happy?
