In Deuteronomy 6 God told parents and fathers specifically that it was their job to ensure that their children were trained in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He identified both the content and the reason for it.
When it comes to the education of the youth, both God and the Devil, the righteous and the evil equally understand the high stakes of this process of education. God identifies the right content, the right process, and the right reasons for educating a child to fear and obey God. The devil and all who reject God have always tried to subvert the content, process, and reason because a virtuous education always leads to freedom, a knowledge of God, and spiritual life through faith in Jesus Christ. A virtuous education always leads to national prosperity, civil freedom, respect, and blessings abundant.

Psalm 1 is the introductory Psalm to the other 149, the gateway to the entire Psalms. It is powerful citing two paths in life. One that produces blessedness and life. The other death. Psalm 1 is for all people of all ages. It speaks to us today. It identifies what the blessed men does and doesn’t do. It identifies what the blessed man will be like and by application how we can be like the blessed man. Also, it identifies what the ungodly or evil man is not. It concludes by saying that the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Stay tuned as Sam and Isaac consider the important theme, “Blessed is the Man - Psalm 1”.
