Mark 13:24-37 is the second half of the Olivet Discourse. Jesus changes the focus from Temple’s destruction to his ultimate return. This teaching has led to much confusion especially when he tells us “This generation will not pass away.”
After the arrest of Jesus confusion and fear seized the disciples. Peter’s response becomes a key point in the utter abandonment of Jesus. Though he was passionate, he ended up giving in to his fear.
