We follow Jesus' example into the waters of baptism to publicly profess our desire to follow him wholeheartedly, laying down our old selves and walking in newness of life. As we go under, we confirm our belief that our sins are forgiven and as we come out of the water, we are resurrected to a new life in Christ.
