Jesus said that "Moses wrote about me” and that the Old Testament "Scriptures testify about me” (John 5:39-46). He also explained to the disciples “what was said in all the scriptures concerning himself" (Luke 24:27). And Paul claimed that Christ "was raised on the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:3). But how can these claims be true? What passages in the Old Testament are all about Jesus and say He would be raised on the third day? Find out in the new series called: “The Bible You Never Knew: Stories Stitched by the Hand of God” We’ll see that not only are the scriptures telling the historical truth, but they are much more inspiring than just an historical record. There are repeated themes and events from Genesis to Revelation that give us a more profound sense of who God is and His mission for us. They also demonstrate that only God can be the primary inspirational force behind the Bible. We’ll again be at Freedom House Church in Lake Norman just off of Exit 28 on I 77 and will begin at 7:15 pm ET. Keep up with any additions or changes at the link for Dr. Frank Turek's calendar. You can also sign other people up for the reminder email that goes out the morning of each study date by sending an email to mailto:donna.morris@acninc.com.
"Expedition to Reality: Exploring Worldviews and Major Religions" Course dates: Feb 24-April 28
There’s a battle raging in culture. But it’s not over a vast array of individual issues—as much as it may seem otherwise. It’s a battle over authority. Who gets to decide what’s true about… + THE NATURE OF REALITY? + WHAT’S RIGHT OR WRONG? + WHAT’S GOOD OR BAD? + WHAT’S HARMFUL OR BENEFICIAL? + HOW WE SHOULD LIVE? + WHAT IT MEANS TO LOVE OTHERS? Are the answers to these questions a matter of opinion, or has God already spoken? It takes conviction and courage to stand unshaken in a culture where the battle rages between the authority of God and the millions who obey the authority of self. There is no middle ground when it comes to who’s the authority. It’s God’s way or your way. A life-giving way or a self-destructive way. Whose way will you choose? At Unshaken, you’ll be emboldened and encouraged to speak truth without fear, to love the way God loves, and to stand firm no matter the cost.
