True believers, the assumption goes, never waver in their confidence in the fundamental truths of Christianity.

Professor and philosopher Travis Dickinson disagrees! Instead, he says, our doubts and hard questions about the Christian faith are actually an important way we can express our commitment and love to God. Doubt isn’t our destination, but as Christians, it's in our job description to ask questions as we approach God with an intellectual curiosity in order to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.
