Every year, Los Angeles conducts a census of the homeless population through the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. The Count helps better understand homelessness in each region and direct resources where they’re needed most. At least 8,000 volunteers are needed to canvas more than 80 cities and 200 communities across LA County. The count is from January 22-24: - Tuesday, January 22: San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, & San Gabriel Valley - Wednesday, January 23: South Bay/Harbor Cities & East and West Los Angeles County - Thursday, January 24: Antelope Valley, Metro Los Angeles, & South Los Angeles County
