Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count

Every year, Los Angeles conducts a census of the homeless population through the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. The Count helps better understand homelessness in each region and direct resources where they’re needed most. At least 8,000 volunteers are needed to canvas more than 80 cities and 200 communities across LA County. The count is from January 22-24: - Tuesday, January 22: San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, & San Gabriel Valley - Wednesday, January 23: South Bay/Harbor Cities & East and West Los Angeles County - Thursday, January 24: Antelope Valley, Metro Los Angeles, & South Los Angeles County
The Compton Initiative

Join others to clean, paint, and garden in projects all around Compton. This is one of the quarterly work days of The Compton Initiative, which exists to partner with other entities to bring restoration and hope to the community of Compton.

Serve Breakfast at Union Rescue Mission

Union Rescue Mission provides emergency food, shelter and long-term recovery programs in downtown LA. Please join us to prepare and serve breakfast to those experiencing homelessness on Skid Row. *Note: Please sign up by 12 o’clock noon the day before.
