What must I do to be saved? There are countless important questions we wrestle with throughout our lives, but there's nothing more important than understanding how to find salvation. God carefully orchestrated a series of events that led to a Roman jailer asking this question in the context of God setting captives free. And that helps us understand that salvation is about freedom. The takeaway for us is that Jesus wants to set us free from everything that holds us captive.

Living in Light of Eternity

God wants everyone to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. One truth that we need to acknowledge is that there is more to life than what we get to experience on this earth. For those of us in Christ, we get to experience the beauty and joy of an eternity with God in Heaven. But we also know acknowledge the reality of Hell, which Jesus describes in very drastic ways as a warning. We need to make sure we are living in light of eternity and taking full advantage of God's gift of salvation.
Receiving the Gift

God is offering the gift of salvation to everyone, but we need to make an intentional decision to receive the gift. Peter's sermon in Acts 2 helps us understand what it looks like to accept God's offer of salvation: obeying Jesus as our master, trusting him as our savior, and being reborn through repentance and baptism
