The destiny of earth is intertwined with the destiny of God's children. On the final day when Christ redeems our bodies, He is also going to renew the earth, releasing it from sin's curse, bringing heaven down to earth to dwell here with us without end.
When Jesus Prays for Us Part 1

Jesus starts the High Priestly Prayer with a definition of eternal life. According to Jesus, eternal life is knowing God, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom the Father has sent. This soul-satisfying reward of eternal life is a growing knowledge and appreciation of God’s beauty. Eternal life is only good if it is spent discovering the only true God. John 17:3 carries significant trinitarian implications that God the Father and God the Son are both equally God.
