Family Promise is a ministry that helps families who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. Churches all around Grayson County take turns housing these families for a week at a time.
Per the last annual report, 192 families with children in Grayson County were helped, either in this rotation program, Tabitha House (transitional housing) or Family HOPE (financial assistance for those on the verge of experiencing homelessness).
Eighty-seven families were provided other support by FP, such as food, clothing, diapers and emergency assistance.
We have a week of hosting coming up July 6-12th. If you have any questions about what it's like to be a host, please reach out!
You do not have to be trained to provide a meal. You simply drop it off at the small group building on your scheduled day. The meal is for the guests and the hosts. Shannon and Caitlin Hebert clean out the fridge at the end of the week and will wash and return anything non-disposable to you.
At the moment, they have a mom and 13 year old son in the program. This could change at any time. Last month, there were 3 families at a time in the rotation.
