Spend your lunch break reconnecting with nature in a more intentional way. We will meet near the education center at Halyburton Park every Thursday from Noon - 1:00 pm between FEB 26 - MAR 26.
This is a weekly gathering in nature during Lent, offering gentle, guided sensory experiences inspired by the evidence-based medical practice of forest bathing. Each session starts with a 30-minute guided nature sensory experience and meditation followed by an optional 30-minutes for human connection with a circle of sharing time and brown-bag picnic lunch.
Research shows time spent slowly, attentively, and repeatedly in nature helps ease stress, calm the nervous system, lower inflammation, and support emotional and physical well-being. Each session is an invitation to rest, listen, and receive God’s care through the natural world—allowing our bodies, minds, and spirits to be gently restored.
All events are FREE and open to the public. Attend as many as you like, though it is encouraged to participate in the complete series for those seeking to establish a consistent, daily practice of more nature meditations.
NOTE: These events are not certified forest bathing sessions, they are inspired by the practice and designed to encourage developing a deeper connection with God's creation on a spiritual level.
These are rain or shine events. We will only cancel under severe or dangerous weather conditions.
Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers or according to the weather forecast.
