AHA BASIC LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION:

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of settings. This class is 4 hours long and students will receive a BLS certification card upon completion. 


What does this course teach?

· High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

· The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components

· Important early use of an AED

· Effective ventilations using a barrier device

· Importance of teams in multi rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi rescuer CPR

· Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

 

AHA HEART SAVER FIRST AID:

Who should take this course?

The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This session is approximately 2 -3 hours long (depending on class size) This is an abbreviated course and does not come with a AHA certification card, rather a certificate of training. 


What does this course teach?

· First aid basics

· Medical emergencies

· Injury emergencies

· Environmental emergencies

· Preventing illness and injury


FAMILY + FRIENDS / HANDS ONLY CPR:

The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

 

What does this course teach? 

· Adult Hands-Only CPR/Adult CPR with Breaths/AED/Choking: about 39 minutes

· Child CPR/AED/Choking: about 27 minutes

· Infant CPR/Choking: about 21 minutes
