2023 Missions

August is Missions Month

Missions Week 1 "Thailand"

August 6, 2023 • Evangelist Tony Webb

Speaker: Evangelist Tony Webb Title: Missions Week 1 Thailand. For a brief history, my wife and I were born again and married on the same day back in July 24, 1995. Be fore that, I was prize fighting on Thai television from 1990 -1995 under the name of "Tony Sasiprapa-gym." In 1996, the Lord sent my wife and I to Hawaii to be trained at the Door of Faith Church and Bible School; and I believe that we were the last two "missionaries" to be trained and ordained by Sister Mildred Brostek. We returned to Thailand in 1998. By the grace of God, we preach all over Thailand, Burma, Laos PDR, Cambodia, and the Philippines. For the Lord has gifted and called me to do the work of an evangelist. We have three children: Esther, our eldest daughter; Mordecai, our son; and Hadassah, our youngest daughter. And my wife's name is Sister Anesta. Mission Statement: Our mission statement is "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come." (Matthew 24:14). Though we are in Thailand, we are preaching the gospel to souls from all over the world. For pre-COVID-19, souls from all over the world came to Thailand; and we preach the gospel on these streets that they are coming to, especially in the red light areas. Plus, by the miraculous provisions of God, we have gospel tracts in the many languages of the world, that my family gives out while I preach the gospel. As Sister Mildred Brostek trained us to grow, glow, and go, we are still growing, glowing, and going. And we are going to souls from all over the world with the gospel of the kingdom. PRAYER REQUEST... Back in 2014, the night before the late Northern Irish preacher, lan Paisley, went to be with the Lord, he sent me an e-mail praying that God would give us souls for our hire. And this is our prayer request: SOULS. Currently, Thailand is not even 1% Christian; and most of the people who come here from around the world are not Christian. So our prayer request is for souls. "PRAY FOR SOULS" **

Missions Week 2 "Pakistan"

August 13, 2023 • Pastor Chris Nayyir

Speaker: Pastor Chris Nayyir Title: God's Mission & We Key Text: Isaiah 61 : 1 - 4 NKJV The Good News of Salvation 61-1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to [a]heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To [b]console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. ** Our Vision To raise up Disciples who can disciple others by providing an excellent Theological education, and Leadership development that is sustainable! To teach Evangelical witness is which will lead to disciples who reproduce. We focus on mentoring leaders who will multiply by identifying people's giftedness and then by deploying them into the harvest. Our long term goal is to create a multi-cultural, multi-generational family of God! PRAYER REQUESTS... • For all Christians in Pakistan that they might be strong in the midst of their suffering. (We ask for God's protection) • For all Christian churches in Pakistan. (We ask for God's protection) • Please pray for all of our church planting and development projects in Pakistan. And finally, pray for Pakistan! That the political situation in Pakistan might be resolved by God to bring HIM glory! **

Missions Week 3 "Surfing The Nations"

August 20, 2023 • Guest Speaker Hugo Lindh

Guest Speaker Hugo Lindh A New Surf Culture Our founder Tom Bauer found himself dissatisfied with surf culture after moving to Hawaii to pursue his dreams of being a surf bum as a boy. He decided that it was better to serve the people around him than to use surfing as something to glorify a wild partying lifestyle. Tom and his wife Cindy started Surfing The Nations with the goal of mobilizing the surfing community to “give back” and be a blessing to the world around them. The first internship began in 1999 as an experiment in impacting the local community in Kalihi, and grew steadily, capturing the hearts of hundreds of surfers and adventure seekers looking to grow and serve others. STN Today We are Surfing The Nations, a non-profit, humanitarian organization, run entirely by volunteers. Our desire is to see lives changed inside and outside of our organization, locally and internationally. We are a community made up of people who believe in using their talents and passions – from surfing and beyond – to give back and share a message of love and hope. We believe surfers have a unique call on their lives: to GO — to use their thirst for adventure to bring them to the places of the world that are in need. We want to give surfers a purpose and a desire to serve others and build friendships all over the world. Wahiawa By 2008, we desperately needed a permanent headquarters. The search brought us to the unlikely town of Wahiawa when an old neighborhood bar attached to a 15-unit apartment building, finally opened up. Thus began the acquisition of the Wahiawa property, the new headquarters of Surfing The Nations and a new chapter in its history. STN staff and interns moved into the apartments and the bar has now been transformed into Surfer’s Coffee. Subsequently through a series of extraordinary events, STN has acquired three additional properties that include an ex-porn shop, an old convenience and liquor store, and a former exotic dancers’ strip club. Bigger Than We Thought Moving forward, STN continues to expand internationally with the beginning of new bases in Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Huntington Beach, California along with the prospect of many more bases to come in other places around the world. After cementing the culture and structure of an STN base with our “thruster model”, we are truly ready to start a new network of bases around the world. **

Missions Week 4 "Vietnam"

August 27, 2023 • Pastor Moses Cao

They will be called mighty oaks, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” – Isaiah 61:1-3 PRAYER REQUESTS... • That God would anoint my life for His purposes. His presence would move greatly in the heart of the Vietnamese and touch lives. Missions 2023 Recap

September 10, 2023 • Pastor Jacob Hong

Pastor Jacob Hong Key Text: Hebrews 4:6-12 NKJV 6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” 8 For if [a]Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. The Word Discovers Our Condition 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. **
