JANUARY: NATIONAL BLOOD DONOR MONTH
National Blood Donor Month is celebrated in January to honor blood donors and encourage more people to donate. President Richard Nixon officially proclaimed the first National Blood Donor Month in January 1970.
Here are some reasons why National Blood Donor Month is important:
❤️Blood is needed every two seconds.
❤️In the United States, someone needs blood every two seconds. Blood transfusions are used to treat patients with a variety of conditions, including trauma, blood loss, cancer, and more
❤️Donate blood: Find a location to donate blood and schedule an appointment.
