Is there ever a wrong time to pray + fast? No! Fasting is a spiritual discipline just like prayer and Scripture reading. At Kingdom Church we usually have three corporate fasts a year. We believe there is power and breakthrough in our lives when we deny our flesh and draw near to God for specific periods of time.

In Mark 9, Jesus finds some of His disciples trying to cast out a demon from a young boy and they are unable to. It was God's will for them to have victory over the darkness, but they were not yet experiencing it. When Jesus is able to set the boy free He instructs them, "This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting." When we commit ourself to diligent intimacy with God the miraculous breaks forth, and what was always meant to be ours begins to be experienced in our life. It is God's design that we would be living under an open heaven, but sometimes it takes hearts returning to the Lord with diligent prayer and fasting, to begin to see it become a reality. We are believing for the heavens to open up over our lives, families, and church.

So, what are you believing God for? Is there an area of your life that you feel has been shut closed and you know it's God's will for the doors to fling wide open? Have you found yourself discouraged? Sometimes in the waiting our faith can shrink back, but it is God's will that we do not give up and that we continue to believe for the open heavens over our life.
