Greetings, friends of the New Saint Andrews College Conservatory of Music.
I am happy to inform you that for the first time in twelve years, a chamber ensemble from the
NSA Concert Choir will be going on tour. This year’s tour through the Pacific Northwest
will occur over spring break: Friday, March 13 through Saturday, March 21. 9 days, 7
cities, 3 states, and dozens of church and school communities with stops in Washington
(Wenatchee, Bellingham/Lynden, Woodinville, Centralia), Oregon (Oregon City/West
Linn, Enterprise), and Idaho (Boise).
Sometimes choir tours are simply opportunities for choirs to travel and concertize. These
are usually quite enjoyable and create fond memories. While we will travel and
concertize on our tour and hope to have an enjoyable experience with lasting memories,
the NSA Choir Tour is more about sharing NSA with others around the country. In
addition to the concerts, we will have the opportunity to do choir clinics, have recruiting
meetings with students, meetings with music teachers & administrators, home stays &
fellowship meals, etc. The concerts will present truth, goodness, and beauty to the
audiences and the home stays and fellowship opportunities will allow NSA students into
the homes and lives of other Christians. We think this combination can be one of the
most powerful advertisements for NSA: its purpose, its culture, and its people.
The concert theme is entitled Sing for Joy, a reference to Psalm 67:4. It is structured to
show how music is a part of life at NSA: Convocation & Commencement, Concerts &
Choral Fests, Banquets & Bach’s Lunches, and the Music Colloquium & Conservatory of Music. Compositions by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Britten, Holst highlight the program.
Please share the information about our concert in your area with others and invite them to
attend. We look forward to seeing you and sharing with you much beautiful music to the
glory of God. Thank you for your prayers and for your support.
Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
Gratefully,
Dr. David R. Erb
