- Music from Indigenous, classical & contemporary traditions

- Scripture in many languages

- Reflections from diverse voices

------------------------------------

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM, the community is invited to come together for a powerful ecumenical Pentecost worship service at Central United Methodist Church, located at 27 Church Street in downtown Asheville.

This special gathering, themed "One Spirit, Many Voices," will celebrate the rich diversity of the Church and the unifying presence of the Holy Spirit. Just as the Spirit spoke to each person in their own language on the day of Pentecost, this service will reflect that same spirit of inclusion and connection.

The afternoon will begin with a land acknowledgment offered by a Native American leader, followed by a worship experience featuring a unique blend of Indigenous, contemporary, and classical music. Scripture will be read in multiple languages, honoring the many cultures and voices that make up our faith communities.

At the heart of the service will be reflections on a central question:

What is the Holy Spirit saying to the Church in this time?

Three dynamic speakers will offer their insights:

-Antonio Garcia, CORE Manager for Hispanic Ministry in the Charlotte Catholic Diocese

-Judith Whelchel, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain

-Timothy “GA” Underwood, from DeepTime at Trinity UMC in West Asheville

This worship service offers a sacred space to listen deeply—to God, to one another, and to the Spirit moving among us. It is a holy reminder that true community values every voice, meets people where they are, and makes room for all.

All are welcome to attend. Come, and be part of this Spirit-filled moment of unity and hope.
