Worship is more than music. Worship is the privilege of coming into the presence of God and expressing how much He means to us. Yes, singing songs about God and declaring what we believe about God, but also singing to God and expressing our hearts, our love, and our praise to Him. Worship is more than music because worship is an encounter with a holy God. An encounter with our Creator, our Father, our Savior, and our Lord. Encountering God requires a response. Truly encountering God, and truly knowing Him, provokes a response of awe and reverence, humility and gratitude, praise and adoration.

In Psalm 29, David teaches us that worship is about bringing a gift to God, a gift honoring who He is and expressing how much He means to us. Worship is more than music. It’s more than singing familiar and favorite songs. Worship is about bringing a gift to God to honor God. Worship is the privilege of coming into the presence of God and expressing how much He means to us. Yes, singing songs about God and declaring what we believe about Him, but also singing to God and expressing our hearts, our love, and praise to Him.
