Father/Son Campout

April 4 - 5, 2025

Our Father/Son campout is for ages 6 to 14.

Cost: $5 per person. Max $15 per family.

Location: Anderson County Park



 

Friday 

3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Arrival, Check-In & Camp Setup 

Welcome campers and leaders 

Distribute camp materials (maps, schedules, etc.) 

Set up tents, gear, and campsite 

Go over safety procedures and camp expectations 

4:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Opening Introduction 

Opening prayer and devotion 

Introduce camp leaders and go over the schedule talk about trail life 

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Activity Block 1 

Option 1: Outdoor Skills (fire-building, shelter-building) 

Option 2: Nature Walk (identify plants, animals, and natural features) 

5:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Dinner 

Hotdogs and hamburgers (with all the fixings), chips and water 

Fellowship time while enjoying the meal 

Clean up after the meal 

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM: Evening Activity / Campfire Program 

Option 1: Campfire Songs & Storytelling 

Option 2: Night Hike (exploring the outdoors after dark, with flashlights) 

7:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Evening Devotion & Reflection 

Share a devotion focusing on the day’s activities 

Reflection time on God’s creation and the lessons learned 

Closing prayer 

8:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Campfire & Fellowship Time 

Relax by the campfire 

Casual games (e.g., roasting marshmallows, playing cards) 

Quiet time and fellowship 

9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Lights Out / Quiet Time 

Get ready for bed 

Encourage campers to reflect on their experiences before sleep 


 

Saturday 

7:00 AM - 7:30 AM: Wake Up & Morning Devotion 

Begin with a short devotion and prayer 

Stretching and morning routines 

Prepare for breakfast 

7:30 AM - 8:30 AM: Breakfast 

Bacon/sausage , eggs and biscuits water/coffee/orange juice 

Fellowship and share plans for the day 

8:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Activity Block 2 

Option 2: Archery/Shooting Sports (supervised, safety first) 

Option 3: Fishing (teaching techniques) 

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Activity Block 3 

Option 1: Hike (explore nearby trails, incorporate nature education) 

Option 2: Group Challenge games- (basketball or capture the flag or team-based activities) 

Option 3: Crafting (make bird house) 

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch 

Camp-style lunch (sandwiches, fruit, chips, etc.) 

Enjoy some down time with friends 

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Afternoon Activity Block 

Option 1: Community Service Project (help clean up the camp or neighboring area) 

Option 2: Canoeing/Kayaking 

Option 3: Group Relay Races (team-building and fun competition) 

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Closing Ceremony 

Group reflection and discussion: What did we learn? What was our favorite part? 

Closing prayer, thank yous, and blessings 

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Pack Up & Departure 

Pack up camp, gather personal gear, and clean the campsite 

Ensure all campers are ready for departure
