What to Expect

The goal of ANS is to get you and your team engaged in local missions with us, by having you all actively interacting with ANS players, coming from over 100 Nations.

When your church arrives @ 2:00 pm we’ll greet your volunteers and help you get set up. Then we’ll huddle, pray and split up into the serve roles listed below. At 6 pm we’ll huddle again to share highlights from the Serve Day, debrief, and then help you breakdown and get packed up.

We'd like to have 3 of your Men volunteers share a 1-minute Testimony (20-30 secs of life before Jesus; 20-30s of how they came to Jesus; 20-30 of difference Jesus has made) for our men’s devotions at 2:30 PM and at 4:30 PM (can be the same 3 men). We would also like to have 2 women who would be willing to share their 1-minute testimony for our women’s league at 5:30 PM. When the devotions are given, we would love for your Root's Church attendants to plug in and participate in the discussion. We will send a copy of that week’s devotion in a follow-up email the week before you are scheduled to come out. 

Serve Roles

Greeters: 3:30-5:15pm (3+)

Church Pavillion Refreshments & Resources: 3-6pm (2+)

PreGame Prayers: 3:50pm (3) & 4:50pm (2)

Halftime ANS Huddles:  

Mens 2:30pm & 4:30pm – 3+ (at least 1 at each field) 

Womens 5:15pm – 3+ (at least 1 at each field)

(1 volunteer shares 1min testimony and others share refreshments. All volunteers are encouraged to engage in our Halftime ANS huddles and to be a part of our gospel focused soccer devotions) 

Youth Clinic (4-14yr olds) Support Staff: 4:45-6pm (2+ People)

Youth Soccer Free Play / Games: 2:30-6pm (2+ people) *Optional to interact with youth

ANSL Table: Bibles, Devotions, Merchandise and Donations: 3-6 pm (1+)

What to Bring

15+ People 

Food (Plan for 300 People): Cookout (Awesome!) and/or refreshments (Fruit, Bars, Etc.)

(Players will usually stay after their games for food & refreshments. This is a great time to engage with the players) 

250 Bottled Water/Sports Drinks or Powder Packets that can be dissolved in Water Bottles

Gatorade mix and 150+ cups (We also serve water and Gatorade/lemonade in large 5 Gal. coolers [we provide the coolers])

Encouraged, but Not Required: 

Have your people wear Church T-shirts, hats, etc. to represent your church!

Bring any Merch, Banners, Church Invite Cards, etc. to represent your church!

Any Fun Yard Games for Kids

Appreciated, but Not Required:

Bibles (English, Spanish, and Arabic), Devotionals

 Donations: Youth and Adult lightly used/new soccer equipment: cleats, shin-guards, balls
