Come, Lord Jesus

December 19

What will it be like to live forever with God? It is hard for our minds to imagine that. But chapters 21 and 22 of Revelation give us many beautiful pictures of what it will be like. God will live with His people forever. There will be no more tears, death, sadness, crying or pain. This will be a wonderful place!

The holy city, the New Jerusalem, will come down out of heaven from God. This city will be made of glass and precious stones. There will no need for lights there because God’s glory will fill the city. The river of the water of life will flow down the middle of the street of the city. We can’t even imagine how beautiful and magnificent this city will be!

Here on earth we are surrounded by evil and sin. But when we live with God, we will be surrounded by honor, holiness, joy and peace. We will see Jesus’ face and stand before God’s throne. He will reign forever and forever.

In Revelation 22:20, John ends his book of prophecy. “Jesus is the one who says that all of this is true. Now he says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!”

Jesus is coming soon, and we should be excited and look forward to the time when He will come to reign as our King forever.
