We have learned about Peter’s message for several days now. His message touched the hearts of the people, and many people changed their lives. That was the perfect message to start the church. Those people were willing to give their lives to Jesus and follow Him forever.
You and I were not in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. We did not see Peter preach. But His message is still for us today. Peter talked about that in Acts 2:39. “This promise is for you. It is also for your children and for the people who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Peter told the people to repent and be baptized. Then he said that God would forgive their sins and give them the Holy Spirit. That promise of forgiveness and the Holy Spirit is for us, too! When our sins are forgiven, we have a new relationship with God. He is our Father, and we are His children. The Holy Spirit encourages us and shows us how to live for God every day.
Praise God for Peter’s message! Share that message with someone who needs to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
