Christmas Story (3)

December 22

December 22, 2019 • Jo Krueger

Have you ever waited a long time for something to happen? Maybe you waited for your birthday to arrive. Or maybe you waited for a package to come in the mail.

We read in the Old Testament that God promised the Israelites that He would send His Son. The people waited thousands of years for this to happen. When the angel announced to the shepherds outside Bethlehem that their Savior had finally been born, they must have been very excited. They were so excited that they went right away to find baby Jesus.

The shepherds were happy that Jesus had been born, and we should be excited that Jesus is coming back someday. Paul talked about this in Titus 2:13. “We should live like that while we are waiting for the coming of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He is our great hope, and he will come with glory.”

We should look forward to the time when Jesus will fulfill His promise and come back to earth. But there are many people in the world today who do not know Jesus. It is our job to help them be ready for Jesus’ return. Who will you tell about Jesus today?
