Adam

January 15

Steve Husting

In chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis, we learn that God made Adam. Genesis 2:7 tells us about Adam. “Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and made a man. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living thing.” After that, God made Eve. He made Adam and Eve to be the first man and woman to live on the earth. I believe this really happened. But some people I know say that this is just a made-up story to teach us about good and bad.

I believe that all of the Bible is true, so I believe that the story about Adam and Eve is true. Another reason I believe this story is true is because men who wrote the Bible believed
it. Paul believed it. He talked about Adam several times in his letters to churches. Luke believed it, too. In his book about Jesus, Luke listed Adam as one of Jesus’ ancestors. Paul and Luke believed that Adam and Eve really lived.

Because the Bible is true, we need to pay attention to it. The stories in the Bible teach us about God and show us how to live. When we read about Adam and Eve, we learn that sin is terrible and that we should always obey God. I hope that you will pay attention to the Bible. It is true, and it is God’s Word for us today.
