We live in a world that is increasingly ignorant of who the true God is—even within churches. Many claim to believe in God yet reject the God of the Bible, redefining Him according to their own imagination. Left to ourselves, we could never “by searching find out God” or know what He was doing before the world began, what He is doing now, or what He will do. This series, *That Which May Be Known*, is about the sheer privilege and urgent necessity of knowing our Creator as He has revealed Himself. We will consider the kindness of God in making Himself known, the darkness we would be left in without that revelation, and the difference between merely knowing about God and truly knowing Him.
This three-part series will first explore “Finding Out God”—the revelation of God and human enlightenment. We will look at general and special revelation, written and progressive revelation, the existence and attributes of God, and why our eye, ear, and heart are insufficient without His self-disclosure. The second part will examine “The Determinate Counsel of God"—His plan, will, and purpose in Christ, and the progressive way He has chosen to unveil that counsel in history. The final part, “God Hath Revealed,” will trace how God works all things after the counsel of His will, from what He made known in time past to what He kept hidden but has now revealed, especially in Christ and His redemptive work. Throughout, the aim is that we would be filled with gratitude, grounded in the basics, and drawn into deeper fellowship with the God who has so graciously revealed Himself in His Word.
