Luke 2:6-21 | Andrew Murch | Only in light of the Old Testament's foreshadowing can the birth of Christ be recognized and appreciated for its gloriousness. As our Advent season comes to its high point, we are left with the scene of the Lord Jesus born to a virgin in a manger. The story of Christ's birth is the story of a God who would humble himself, take on the limitations of humanity, and dwell with sinful people for the sake of saving them. Glory to God in the highest!

Isaiah 35:1-10 | Andrew Murch | "They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God." As we continue in our journey in Isaiah, we come to a passage saturated with hope. The Lord has promised that Israel's impending exile will come to an end. Only after exile would Israel be called back to the Lord. God himself reveals through the prophet Isaiah a glorious promise of restoration and redemption for his people.

God is the one who promised to provide salvation for his people. This salvation is realized in a special way in the birth of Christ, the God-man, who would bring ultimate deliverance to God's people.
