So, whether you need HELP or want to SERVE (or BOTH), we've got you covered. NEED HELP? Anyone is welcome, there are no income requirements. All our distributions are drive-through service. Please arrive no earlier than 1.5 hours before posted distribution times. We will provide pre-packed bags. Remember to arrive on time! WANT TO HELP? We're always accepting food donations and volunteers at our four monthly distributions. Set up starts 1.5 hours before distribution times.
Every Friday evening since 2003, people of all ages have gathered at the Journey Food Bank to make PB&J sandwiches and deliver them to the homeless in downtown San Diego. Are you 62 or older? If so, we’d like to make it a little easier for you to visit the Journey Food Bank. Rather than having to wait in 100+ person lines, we’ll be open to you on the 4th Friday of each month at 10am. Drop by and see us! Instructions: Our distributions are drive-through service. Please arrive no earlier than 1.5 hours before posted distribution times. Please remain in your car and follow directives from the Food Bank personnel. We will provide pre-packed bags. We are hosting our 73rd Blood Drive at Journey! In the past 22 years, Journey blood drives have touched the lives of 5,526 people! We love that! On Sunday, April 27th the San Diego Blood Mobile will be in the Journey parking lot from 8am – 1:30pm. You can make a huge difference in someone's life and you'll also get a free donut in Plaza Cafe. Make an appointment online to donate anytime between 8am - 1:30pm. Limited walk-up appointments will also be available at the bus. *Show proof of your donor appointment in Plaza Cafe for a free donut. Same day only. Plaza Cafe closes at 11:30am, we recommend claiming your donut before your appointment time. (Currently all blood types are in short supply)
