Let's Please God

Let's please God. Making that statement the focus of our lives will cause the troubles of this world to dim as we engage in the specific assignments God has for us each day. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson talks about the freedom that comes from choosing to please the Lord in each decision we make. Our tendency is to please men or fit in with the culture. This is nothing new; we see examples of this behavior throughout the Bible. The truth is that our choices either please the Lord—or they don’t. There is no middle ground. Let’s be a generation that’s defined by our willingness to please God.

Let's Please God - Money Matters

Here’s a clear action plan that will help us navigate what’s ahead: Let’s please God. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson talks about some of the difficulties we’re facing as a nation, then offers a pathway toward contentment and peace: making consistent choices that please God. If we allow it, God will use our daily lives to influence, encourage, bless, and bring truth to the people around us—changing hearts, lives, and ultimately our nation. To know how to please God, we need to be familiar with His character and His Word. Pastor Allen offers biblical insight on what pleasing God looks like when it comes to money. When we focus on pleasing God, it opens our lives to His power, every place we go.

The End of this Age – Lord, We Are Listening

The two primary characteristics of the people of God are that they listen and obey. It’s not enough just to listen or recognize that God has said something; we must obey. We are in desperate need of listening to God and perceiving what He is doing, Pastor Allen Jackson says, and that is more about the attributes of our hearts than it is about our physical ability to hear. It is possible, he says, to be the people of God, and engaged in all kinds of religious activity, yet still be oblivious to what God is saying and doing. A person becomes a spiritual listener by putting off the old self and being made new in the attitudes of our heart and mind. When we allow the Holy Spirit to transform us, our hearts will remain tender toward the Lord and we can recognize what He is doing and participate in His purposes in the earth.

Faith Mountains - Then The End Will Come

The Bible makes it clear that time will come to an end. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses this truth and how it should influence the way we approach our daily lives. The end of our physical existence is not the end of us—our spirits live on. God has a plan for us beyond time, and we can choose to participate and help build His Kingdom today or go our own way. It can be hard to stand up for God and His Truth, and Pastor Allen offers several scriptures that remind us that our strength and security comes from the Lord, not governments, and not men. Let’s recognize the places we’ve been hesitant in our faith, repent, then step back into the arena as unrelenting advocates of Jesus of Nazareth as Lord, Christ, and King.

Faith Mountains - Against All Odds

If we choose to follow God, He will help us navigate the difficult mountains of life—even when the odds are stacked against us. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson talks about our significance to God and His plan for restoration that will help us through any struggle. He discusses incidents from lives of David, Peter, Noah, and Moses, showing their faithful obedience to their assignments—and God’s response when their efforts fell short. When we submit to the simple practices that grow our faith—reading the Bible, praying, and intentionally choosing to yield to God’s plans—God will strengthen us for our current assignments and entrust us with more.

What To Do In A Crisis

You need to know what to do in a crisis before you find yourself in one—because at that point, it’s too late to make a plan. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson points out the crisis we’re facing as a nation, and God’s plan that leads to restoration. He offers insight from the book of Leviticus, which shows God’s great holiness and our need for repentance. When we turn our hearts toward God and choose to pursue holy lives, it opens doors of possibility only He could orchestrate. He points out fundamental truths about our faith and God’s character that provide a firm foundation in any crisis we may face.

The End of This Age - Your Will Be Done on Earth

“There has been a season change,” Pastor Allen Jackson says, and “it’s not about a virus or any other single cause. I think there is a spiritual layer beneath all those things that presents itself in different ways. The outcomes are fear, confusion, violence, disorder, and disruption.” Jesus gave us a description of what the world would be like prior to His return to the earth, and the conditions of this present age seem to indicate that it is coming toward its conclusion. Pastor Jackson reminds us that even though the present age will come under God’s judgment, He is more than able to rescue the godly. The Spirit of God and the Word of God can transform us as we pour ourselves into the assignments God has for us.

Faith Mountains

Just as physical mountains separate masses of land, we can have spiritual mountains in our lives that separate us from God’s best plans for us. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson explores barriers that may exist in our lives and the provision God offers to help us overcome them. Many times, the best way over a mountain isn’t by scaling it, but by finding a mountain pass—a low path that allows you to traverse the mountains with less effort. In a similar way, God’s plans for deliverance and restoration offer us a straight path to connect with Him, so we can have His help as we navigate the challenges of life.

Battle with Good & Evil—Without and Within

We need to be aware of the battle taking place within us and around us, and the authority we have through Christ. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the conflict between good and evil and the way it has infiltrated the Church, our culture, and ourselves. He points out several ways good and evil presents itself in the Bible and our world today. Each generation must decide whether they will honor the Lord, and we are no different. To follow God means actively seeking Him and being willing to engage in what He’s doing in the earth. Choosing to align ourselves with God gives us access to His authority, which has power over evil. Instead of pushing aside biblical doctrine to appease our culture, let’s determine to seek God, honor His Word, and live.

Battle Between Good & Evil

The battle between good and evil exists around us every day, we just need to be willing to recognize it. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the reality of good and evil and its impact on us. We find many examples of “good” in the Bible including miracles, stories of God’s grace and deliverance, and the blessings that come to people who choose to follow God. We also find many examples of evil and the devastation it brings. Evil is the work of Satan, who intends to kill and destroy God’s people. It’s time to decide: Will we will follow God and His principles, inviting good into our lives; or will we choose to pursue evil by dismissing God and His Truth?

Heavenly Battles, Earthly Consequences

What happens in the heavens has a direct impact upon the earth. Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the reality of the spiritual realm, Jesus’ place in it, and the power Christians have over evil. The enemy wants to catch our affection and direct our plans, but we need to stand firm in our faith. Pastor Allen provides two scripture-based proclamations to strengthen us: One to declare health over our bodies; and another to deliver encouragement and hope to our spirits.

What We Can Do

The Unwanted Parts of Motherhood

Motherhood was God’s idea, and it comes with both blessings and challenges. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the difficult assignment God gave Mary when He chose her to be Jesus’ mother. He walks through different seasons of Mary’s motherhood and shows how even the “unwanted parts” of parenting can be a part of God’s perfect plan. Pastor Allen also emphasizes that when we choose to be obedient and follow God—when it's easy and when it's difficult, and whether it brings cheers or jeers—we will experience the faithfulness of God.

Women, Wives & Mothers

“When Jesus became real to my mom, everything was different. ” Pastor Allen Jackson said. "I didn't know my mom a long time without Jesus, but I'm telling you, the Jesus version was better.” Godly mothers make an enormous difference in the world, and in this sermon, Pastor Allen discusses lessons we can learn from them. He shares the events that led his parents to come to faith, and how pursuing Jesus changed his family’s daily life. He offers simple practices he learned from his parents that can build our faith and encourage the people around us to draw closer to God.

Do Not Be Deceived - Ways To Protect Yourself

As lies, censorship, and propaganda surrounds us, it takes effort to identify Truth. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson offers seven ways to protect yourself from deception, such as cultivating humility, basing everything on the Scriptures, being wary of fantasy, and keeping your faith simple and plain. He also identifies several attitudes and behaviors that make us vulnerable to deceit and false prophecy, including having a limited awareness of Scripture. Pastor Allen’s points create "guardrails" that will help us distinguish Truth from deception.
