What are you staring at? Eventually, if you keep looking at it, you will attach your mind to it. Once your mind is attached to it, it will drive your decisions, your actions and will eventually determine your destination. Where you gaze is where you go. For some of us, we need to break the gaze, refocus our vision and experience a refreshed outlook. This message takes us to the final moments of Jesus Christ on planet earth before He returned to Heaven’s throne. His interaction with His disciples reveals that He does not intend to give His followers something back which they have lost. He wants to impart to us something we have never had. His will for our lives looks forward and He offers us momentum to move in that direction.

For those who rest securely in the doctrine of God’s sovereignty there is not much dialogue concerning human effort or committed determination. We understand rightly that God’s promises will always come to pass. Where many of us struggle, however, is within the process of how God brings to fruition what He has promised. Sometimes God gives a clear to word to His children…and then makes them wait for it. Sometimes that waiting lasts for very long periods of time. Will we be as determined to receive the promise at the end of our waiting as we were in the beginning? This message teaches us much from the life of Caleb, a man who was forced to wait more than four decades to inherit the promise of God. In the end, Caleb was full of fire and zeal as he ascended to the top of the mountain that had his name on it.
