Part 18 - Challenge of Holiness

December 15, 2013 • Pastor Doyle Jackson

Session 3 The Challenge of Holiness For centuries the people of God were identified by the food they ate, “no unclean animals” or the way they decorated their homes and buildings, “no graven images” or by the sacrifices they offer. Jesus established a new standard and a new way of relating to God. He accepted the punishment for our ungodliness and offered us the righteousness He deserved. This is a radical new way for human beings to relate to Almighty God ---the God of creation, the God who can part the Red Sea or open blind eyes. Much of the NT is written to help us understand what Jesus has done for us and how we are to respond. Holiness has not been diminished. God is holy. We are called to be a holy people. Now we have a helper, the Holy Spirit and a High Priest, Jesus of Nazareth. Everyone is welcome.
