When God makes all things new

March 25, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

Revelation 21 is our text this week. When we begin to speak of eternal matters, we have entered a realm where we have difficulties getting our heads wrapped around this topic. Our mortal minds can’t begin to comprehend an existence that is eternal and perfect. We are so tied to time and accustomed to the concerns of this present life that we really can’t even imagine what heaven will be like. All we can do is read our Bibles, believe what God says about heaven, and rejoice in what awaits us, even though we can’t possibly grasp it all now. The title of the message for Sunday is When God Makes All Things New.

The Millenium

March 18, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

Some 250 years ago a man name Isaac Watts wrote a hymn based on Psalm 98 called “Joy to the World.” We sing this hymn at Christmas to celebrate Christ’s first coming. It's a favorite Christmas song, but the song is really about Christ's second coming. "He rules the world with truth and grace..." Watts wrote the hymn to celebrate the Kingship of Christ over all the earth, as the words indicate. This Sunday we will see what the Millennium means to us.

The King is Coming

March 11, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

The Bible is filled with references to the second coming of Christ. There are 1845 references in all. It is emphasized in 17 Old Testament books, and 70 percent of the chapters of the New Testament make reference to it. Christ Himself said he would return, as did angels who spoke to the apostles at Christ's ascension into heaven. This abundance of evidence does not keep scoffers from asking, ”Where is the promise of His coming?” (2 Peter 3:4). That question is answered in Revelation 19:11-16 and will be our focus this Sunday as we look at The King is Coming.

A Marriage made in Heaven

March 4, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

We have arrived at an exciting portion of the Bible. After the dark, dreary passages we have studied, these verses gleam with the glory of heaven. In Revelation 19:1-10, we are going to talk about A Wedding Made in Heaven, the marriage super of the Lamb. This wedding will be a time of great joy for all the redeemed people of God! You are officially invited to this preview of the royal wedding in heaven! Come early to worship the bridegroom, Jesus!

What the end holds for the sinner and the saint

February 25, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

This Sunday, our message will be What the End Holds for the Sinner and Saint from Revelation 14:6-13. This passage speaks about the future that awaits two distinct classes of people, verses 6-11 deal with the future of the lost sinner, while verses 12-13 speak of the future of the faithful saint. While these verses speak about future events, they are still relevant to us today. Every person will reach the end of their earthly journey someday (Hebrews 9:27). When the end comes there will be no more time to prepare. When the end comes, how we leave this world will be how we enter eternity. This Sunday we will consider these verses which clearly declare what the end holds for both the Tribulation sinner and the Tribulation saint and how it applies today.

Victory on the Mountain

February 11, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

If you have been studying along with us as we have moved through this amazing book of Revelation, you know the last two chapters 12 and 13 have been dark, depressing, and discouraging. We have been talking about the devil, the antichrist and the false prophet. This week the scene changes! Chapter 14 gives us a breath of fresh heavenly air in these verses. Only God can take that which is horrible beyond words and turn it into a thing of glory. That is just what He does in the verses. In this passage we are allowed to get a little glimpse of heavenly glory. We are allowed to see the Lamb of God. He is the theme of the book and He is center stage in these verses. Don’t miss this exciting message, Victory On The Mountain.

History's most terrifying world leader

February 4, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

This Sunday, we continue our study of the book of the Revelation in chapter thirteen. The word "antichrist" appears only four times in the Bible, yet the concept of a person who opposes God in Christ, or tries to usurp His authority, is present throughout Scripture. Paul referred to him as the “man of sin”, "son of perdition”, and the "lawless one" in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. Jesus himself warned against the coming of the false Christ and the false prophets and quoted Daniel by identifying the “abomination of desolation” as one who would one day stand in the “holy place” of the temple as God (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15). The early church fully expected the appearance of the antichrist and we should be prepared. This Sunday we will look at history’s most terrifying world leader.

The War in Heaven

January 28, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

This Sunday, we continue our study of the book of the Revelation as we dive into chapter twelve. The drama of the last half of the Tribulation begins and we are introduced to the three main characters: Satan the dragon, the false Christ, and the false prophet. These three are, in a sense, an evil trinity, opposing the true God and his people on earth. While the events will be of special significance to God’s people at that time, the message can and will be encouraging to any suffering saints during any age.

A time for testimony

January 21, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

This Sunday, we return to our study of the book of the Revelation. In chapters 10 and 11 , John describes the events that will occur in the middle of the seven year Tribulation. At the beginning of this period, the Antichrist began to make his conquest by promising to protect the Jews and help them rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. But after three-and-a-half years, he will break his agreement, invade the temple, and begin to persecute the Jewish people. However depressing the events of this middle segment of the Tribulation may be, God is not without His witnesses to the world. In these important chapters, we find three important testimonies: one from a mighty angel (Rev. 10:1-11), one from the two special witnesses (Rev. 11:1-14), and one from the elders in heaven (Rev. 11:15-19).

When Hell Comes to Earth

November 19, 2017 • Dr. Danny Lovett

This Sunday, we will return to the book of Revelation. As we look at the ninth chapter, it is understandable why no one likes to talk about hell in biblical terms. Many churches like to redefine hell as a state of mind or an expression to describe a terrible situation, but the Bible presents hell as a literal place, designed to punish those who live in rebellion against God. Since it's such a terrible place, people want to avoid it, even to erase it from their theology. Why should they run the risk of offending people when there are so many pleasant topics to discuss? The reason we need to learn about hell is because it's in the Bible, it's a real place, and we're obligated to preach God's whole message. Simply denying something is true won't change the fact of its reality. It's far better for us to hear the warnings and be prepared to avoid it. This Sunday, I'll be preaching about "When Hell Comes to Earth". We'll see a description of hell. Don't miss the truth, even when it's not pretty!

The Great Revival in the Tribulation

October 29, 2017 • Dr. Danny Lovett

The Great Tribulation was referred to in the Old Testament as the "time of trouble," Jeremiah 30:7. Two things will happen to Israel during the Tribulation: 1) Israel will be disciplined for her rejection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and 2) Jews will be prepared to receive their Messiah "whom they pierced," Zechariah 12:10. In Revelation 7, we have the evidence of a great revival which will come to the earth and be centered around the nation Israel. It's easy to think that the Tribulation period is going to be nothing but darkness and horror on earth. But like so many other dark days on planet earth, with God, there is always light. In fact, God releases 144,000 points of light to roam the earth and preach the good news. This Sunday we will see this great revival.

The Wrath of the Lamb

October 22, 2017 • Dr. Danny Lovett

The dramatic moment has arrived. God's book, the book of destiny, the great book of history, the book that spells out what is to happen in the end of time is to be opened. But note, the Lamb does not open the scroll at this point. He merely breaks the seals. And the events of the seals are not the end of history itself. They are the events which immediately precede the end. The seals of a book have to be broken before the book can be opened. The seals are preliminary to opening of the book. This is exactly what Christ said. Remember the apostles had asked Christ two questions: When would the temple be destroyed, and what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the world Matthew 24:3 ? Christ answered by giving nine signs, and He called this period of history "the beginning of sorrows"(Matthew 24:5-14). After He had given the nine signs, He said "then the end shall come"(Mathew 24:14). This Sunday we will begin to look at the great tribulation which Christ called "the beginning of sorrows".

I'm in Heaven, Now what?

October 8, 2017 • Dr. Danny Lovett

Last Sunday we looked at the rapture of the church. John pictured for us what it will be like to be snatched out of this world and taken to Heaven. That will be a thrilling experience! However, the question that is often asked by people regarding Heaven is this: "What will we do when we get there?" That is a good question! It is a question we will answer this Sunday. Join us for "I'm in Heaven. Now What?"
