Talk is Cheap

Never underestimate the power of your speech. A judge says a few words, and a man's life is saved or condemned. A doctor speaks a few words, and a patient either rejoices ecstatically or gives up in despair. Whether the communication is oral or written, there is great power in words. The power of speech is a gift of God, and it must be used the way God meant it to be used. The tongue has the power to direct, the power to destroy, the power to delight. The tongue is but a little member in our bodies, but it can accomplish great things for good or for bad. This Sunday we will finish our study in Colossians by looking at four important ministries of speech. Don't miss this life changing truth.

Christians Should be Alive and Alert

June 14, 2015 • Dr. Danny Lovett

In the Christian life, we never stand still. We either go forward or gradually slip backward. "Let us go on to maturity!" is the call we must obey (Hebrews 6:1). The Christian who is not making spiritual progress is an open target for the enemy to attack and destroy. While Jesus wants to give us an overflowing, abundant life, Satan has come to kill and destroy (John 10:10). Satan is a liar (John 8:44) and by his deception, he leads believers down the wrong path. It is important that we stay alert, exercise spiritual discernment, and that we continue to grow in our knowledge of spiritual truth. Don't miss this Sunday as we dive into chapter two of Colossians and explore how we can be Alive and Alert in Christ.
