The Power of Doubt

John the Baptist's life exemplified a life of faithfulness to his calling to prepare the way for Jesus. Even with such a confident faith, John experienced a moment of uncertainty when he ask if Jesus was really who he said he was. Our doubts, left unattended can cause major damage to our faith. However, our doubts can also lead us to a greater life of faith if we leverage them through seeking clarity, waiting for confirmation and walking in confidence.

The Gospel of Luke is filled with various encounters Jesus has with various types of people. When studying these encounters it becomes apparent Jesus had a Whoever you are. However you feel. Whatever you've done attitude. To all types of people he made the same invitation to come and follow him. In this encounter, Jesus calls Zaccheaus out of a sycamore tree and what proceeds tells us what it really means to experience the salvation of Jesus in our everyday lives and for eternity.

In this encounter, Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan to a religious lawyer that calls all of us to take a greater assessment of whether or not we really 'get it' when it comes to our faith and understanding of God's unconditional love.
